    Short version: We only read free/busy blocks from your calendar — never event titles, details, or who you're meeting. We don't sell your data. Ever.
  

1. Who we are

Klockn ("we", "us", "our") is a scheduling and group coordination platform operated from klockn.com. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at hello@klockn.com.

2. What information we collect

Waitlist signups: When you join our waitlist, we collect your name, email address, and optionally your phone number. We use this solely to notify you when your access is ready.

Calendar data: When you connect your Google or Apple Calendar, Klockn reads only free/busy availability data — time blocks that are marked busy or free. We never read, store, or process event titles, descriptions, attendees, locations, or any other event details.

Account information: Name, email address, and password (hashed — never stored in plain text) when you create an organizer account.

Usage data: Standard server logs including IP address, browser type, and pages visited, retained for security purposes.

3. How we use your information

To notify you when your waitlist spot is ready
To power the Klockn availability feature — finding common free windows across your group
To send event-related notifications you have opted into (RSVPs, reminders, confirmations)
To improve and operate the Klockn service
To respond to your support requests

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data to third parties.

4. Calendar access — what we see and don't see

    Klockn requests read-only access to your calendar's free/busy information. This means:

    ✅ We see: when you are marked as free or busy

    ❌ We never see: event names, descriptions, who you're meeting, where you're going, or any other event details

This is a deliberate product decision, not just a technical one. It's the reason people feel comfortable sharing their calendar through Klockn.

5. Data sharing

We share data only with:

Service providers who help us operate Klockn (hosting, email delivery) — under strict data processing agreements
Payment processors (Stripe) for ticket purchases — they handle payment data directly and we never see full card numbers
Law enforcement if legally required — we will notify you where permitted by law

We never sell, rent, or trade your personal data.

6. Data retention

Waitlist data is kept until we have contacted you or you ask us to delete it. Calendar free/busy data is refreshed regularly and deleted when you disconnect your calendar or delete your account. Account data is deleted within 30 days of account deletion request.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Disconnect your calendar at any time from within the app
Opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in any email

8. Security

Calendar refresh tokens are encrypted at rest using AES-256. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We apply industry-standard security practices and review them regularly.

9. Children

Klockn is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we have, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We'll notify you by email if changes are material. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version.
